Burnley, who are struggling to adjust to life in the premier league, are finding the Carabao Cup to be a nice diversion. They defeated League Two team Salford City 4-0 in the previous round of the League Cup, and they have already defeated a Premier League team, Nottingham Forest, 1-0.

This season, Burnley has had very little cause for celebration; they have lost four of their last five games in all competitions when they visit Goodison Park. Charlie Taylor gave them the lead in last Saturday’s Premier League match, but they lost 2-1 at Bournemouth.
Burnley’s dismal road record is highlighted by this loss; they had dropped three of their previous four games away from home. The good news for Vincent Kompany’s team is that they have won the Carabao Cup both times they have played away from home.
